Some of consequences of what occurs to rape victims and or bystanders are great. You see, the victim often feels a sense of fault for what occurs and often times has feelings of depression. The victim often feels alienated and looked down upon. The bystander often feels guilt of allowing the act to occur without stepping in.

Health care personnel are allowed to give rape kits to anyone who feels they have or could have been raped.

In order to encourage victims to report these crimes and to seek treatment and
counseling, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania must implement changes in community
education and encourage the development of sexual assault response teams (SARTs).
Members of a team would include, at a minimum, a medical director, a sexual assault
forensic examiner (SAFE), a sexual assault counselor/advocate, a law enforcement
representative and a Commonwealth’s attorney.

Police investigate rape and sexual encounter

Police investigate rape by asking the possible raper questions.

Police say the sexual encounters were videotaped without the knowledge of the participants, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed.

Laws involving videotaping individuals without their knowledge can differ based on a number of circumstances that may be involved in a particular instance.

According to Cumberland District Attorney David Freed, a major distinction between what is considered a felony and what is considered a misdemeanor is whether or not the footage contains sound.

“The distinction is made with the interception of oral communication and video,” Freed said. “If it does contain sound, it is a wire tap violation, and that is considered a felony of the third degree. If it is just video, it is considered a third-degree misdemeanor if there is only one violation or a second-degree misdemeanor if there is more than one, and there’s usually more than one.”

Second-degree misdemeanors have a maximum sentence of two years for each violation.

Among violations involving only video, there is also another distinction between filming a public act and a private act.

If a person is filmed walking down the street, there is no violation, according to Freed. That, however, does not include “upskirting,” where people film underneath the skirts of women walking in a public area.

“It was sort of a new thing, and there wasn’t a law for it before,” Freed said. “There was a case in Cumberland County that changed that law in 2005, to take effect in January 2006. There was a man who was filming women at the Capital City Mall, but the charges were dropped, and the woman wasn’t happy with that result. We got that law changed.”

The law now includes a section prohibiting the videotaping of intimate body parts, even if they are covered.

For violations involving a private area, such as a home, it is not illegal to own security cameras or to tape those visiting the household without notifying them of the cameras.

What does make the security camera footage illegal is when what is being filmed is sexual in nature, according to Freed.

The Invasion of Privacy law states that a person commits an offense when filming someone without his/her knowledge and using the videotapes or photography for sexual gratification, recording a person in full or partial nudity or filming someone who has a reasonable expectation of privacy. Taping sexual acts without consent would also fall into this category as a violation of privacy.

A rape kit is all the tools necessary to determine if you were or have been raped. They are also known as the "Jane Doe rape kits". These are private.

A sexual assault evidence collection kit, sexual assault forensic evidence (SAFE) kit or Sexual Offense Evidence Collection (SOEC) kit in New York^[1] is a set of items used by medical personnel for gathering and preserving physical evidence following a sexual assault which can be used in criminal proceedings. The kit was developed by Louis R. Vitullo and was for years referred to as the Vitullo kit.

The term applies also to the collected evidence for a specific case.

In the United States, as of 2009 states will have to pay for "Jane Doe rape kits," also known as anonymous rape tests, in order to continue to receive funding under the U.S. Violence Against Women Act.^[2]

This story is completely fake....
Meg: Hey, Tricia are you going to that party on Zoo loom Avenue at 7pm tonight?
Tricia: Yeah, I am.... I heard that guy Matt was going to be there.

Now it is going onto 11pm and Meg has to really go to the bathroom and Tricia is no where to be found probably hooking up with her friend Mark. John sees that Meg is alone and decides to take advantage of this opportunity.

John: Do you need help with anything Meg?
Meg: Ah, no I mean I really have to go to the bathroom.
John: I can take you there I would really enjoy that...

(John is totally wasted to because he arrived to the party earlier, it was at 7:30pm when he had arrived he finished off a 36 pack of beer and decided to drink a handle of vodka to prove he was man enough to do this.)

Meg: Okay I guess..
John: Let's go upstairs.... _he tries to kiss Meg- she refuses him... John gets mad and continues anyway to force himself on Meg.
Meg: Stop, I really don't feel good and I really have to go to the bathroom
John backs off...
Meg goes to the bathroom but then when she comes out he( John) pushes her back into the bathroom and forces himself back on her but this time with much more force.

Meg is still screaming for him to get off of her but no one can hear her because the music is still blasting downstairs.

Finally, Meg gets tired and passes out from the pain... John continues to have his way with her even though she is no longer conscious and then when he is done.. he puts back on his pants and shirt walks downstairs to the party and asks for a ride home.

The next day Meg wakes up sore and she can't figure out why, she only remembers telling John No and for him to stop... She goes to the Wellness center to ask for a Rape test kit... she discovers she had been raped but she is too ashamed to tell anyone so she remains silent and besides that she can't remember who it was she was with the previous night anyway.

Bystanders

Bystanders are people who let their friends get abused or victimized. They stand there directly for the fear of being hurt or abused themselves. They believe that it is someone else who the business belongs to. Bystanders just don't get involved because of the fear involved.

On the phone:
Mike: Hey, can I come over and watch a movie today?
Kristin: Sure, um... My sister and I are home alone right now though.
Mike: That's okay, I'll ride my bike over and see you at your house in about 15 minutes.
Kristin: "Okay that sounds great.
off the phone:
Kristin:Hey, Kim, I just got off the phone with Mike and he's coming over to the house.
Kim: okay Kristin. I'm watching television do you want me to go to my room?
Kristin: No, it's okay you can stay in the playroom.
15 minutes later the doorbell rings...
Kim : Oh, Hi Mike, would you like something to drink.
Mike:No I just want to see your sister where is she?
Kim: Oh, She's in the basement.
Mike: Great!
Kristin: Hi, Mike what movie would you like to watch?
Mike: I don't know, Austin Powers Gold-member.
Kristin: Interesting choice, how come?
Mike: Because I want to play the guy that gets all the ladies. Speaking of ladies, you look really nice right now.

Mike: No problem, dude I am totally in the mood for some fun.

Kristin: I think you should leave now. I don't know where my sister is but I hear a car and I think it may be my parents.
The car door slams and scares Mike so he says to Kristin, " Well we will finish this later." If you say a single word of this to anybody I will make your life a living HELL!!!"

Mom and Dad enter the house it's now been an hour and Kim is still in her room.
Kristin goes upstairs after Mike left terrified that something horrible is going to happen.
Kristin goes and knocks on Kim's door and calmly says did you hear me yelling?
Kim: Yeah, I heard you
Kristin: then why did you not come down and tell him to get off me?
Kim: I dunno I mean how do you know he would not have attacked me too and besides it was really none of my business what the two of you do together, I mean you always tell me to get my own life so I was just merely doing what you asked me to do. You also told me to not bother you when you had friends or guests over.

Rape victims are anyone meaning a female or a male that has been forced to have sexual interactions against their will. Victims of sexual offenses are anyone that has been touched against their will, or if they were unconscious and do not consent.

Mary Contrary- a 21 year old female

Mary Contrary was at a party with her friends and boyfriend on campus. She was drinking and got too drunk. Mary lived in North Village, "the party spot" for the cool kids of the college. Mary had forgotten that her boyfriend was out with her too and he was powerful. As she was stumbling around she got into her dancing a tad to hard and it was not with her boyfriend. He was the jealous type and when he returned to the party after being upstairs in the bathroom, he was furious. He said to her, " Come with me, baby!" His tone was demeaning and he was angry.
He went up to where she was dancing, yanked her off the other boy Brad and grabbed her arm and said to her, " We're leaving!" He was in a drunken state as well but, he was angry and in an outrage. Mary calmly asked, " Why do we have to leave?" We weren't doing anything, he's your best friend and in my Math class and he asked me to dance. It was just one dance anyway, why do you care. I know you only look at me as a piece of meat." I mean the only reason your dating me is because I'm in that sorority Phi Mu. Mary's boyfriend was not amused and this statement that Mary said in her drunken stupor made him even more angry. He had grabbed her away from everyone else at the party but, everyone knew he was in a rage of anger and no one wanted to interfere with their relationship. Most of the guys at the party knew Mary's boyfriend Mark and sided with him anyway because they all played soccer together. The one guy that Mary was dancing with when Mark was in the bathroom happened to be Mark's best friend. When Brad, realized what was going on, he wanted to leave the party and asked his friend James to take him home. Once Brad left, Mark and Mary came back to the party because even though Mark wanted to leave, they didn't because they Mary and Mark were fighting for so long in the hallway. When they re-entered the party, Mark grabbed Mary again... Come with me! Mark was still really tiffed about the whole situation and was angry at Brad, Mark dragged Mary up the stairs to his bedroom laid her down and said, " Now, because you angered me so much, you have to have sex with me!!!" Mary said, no, Mark we talked about this, I'm not ready and besides I thought we were going to wait for marriage. Mark says to Mary, No I want it now and because you danced with Brad, I want you even more now!!!" Mary responds, " Brad is your best friend like i said before and we were just having fun!" Well, now because you did that with him to make it fair and even with me you are going to have SEX with me.Mary who is still drunk but knows she does not want tot have sex. So, Mark says to Mary, here have another drink, its just soda, I made it special for you. Mary AGAINST her better judgment drinks the drink. Mark slid coke into the drink, and before she knew it, she awoke to Mark on top of her after she had been passed out for an hour.

She realized then that she had been raped but it was the next day. It was too late, Mark thought ahead and had showered her in her drunken stupor.

My definition of Sex offender or rapist is anyone who sexually assaults anyone who is unwilling or does not want to have physical contact with the male's or female's private parts. Most of the time the offender is someone you know.

A Sex offender is the person charged, or convicted for his involvement in sex related crimes including molestation, rape, harassment, dealing in pornographical materials etc.(noun)

Donald Keith Chapman-Chapped to his limits??

Donald Keith Chapman was an ordinary man until he encountered his father who raped his(Chapman's mother). Donald Keith Chapman, who lives on194 Bell Road saw a woman walking on Route 31. He was intrigued by her short skirt and how she walked in a seductive manner. As a teenager, Chapman saw his father abusing his mother and he, therefore, justified his attempted rape of the girl, who i will name, Katie for this reason. Chapman seeing Katie, decided to objectify her and cat call her. Chapman was obsessed with Katie especially when he was drunk.
You see his father was an alcoholic and raped his mother and this angered Chapman but, sadly he never tried to help his mother and picked up the same habits as his father later on in life. Chapman didn't have enough after Katie and when he discovered that she had a daughter who was seven he decided he wanted to molest her too. When the daughter tried to tell her mother about the encounter with Chapman, she calmly said:" I can't help you." "Mr. Chapman's a nice man and he means well, his temper just gets the better of him sometimes." The next time, Katie caught Chapman molesting her daughter and tried to pull him off, but it was too late and he had already got it inside of her. Katie still trying with all of her might to get Chapman off of her daughter angered Chapman and he hit her straight across the face.
At this point in time, Katie decided her and her daughter needed to get out but, how could they. Chapman watched their every move. Katie tells Chapman they are going out for ice cream but when Katie and her daughter don't return Chapman gets angry and goes out looking for them. This time, Chapman finds them at a neighbors house and he is drunk again and angry. He throws a punch again and hits Katie again right in the eye. This time though, the neighbor sees the abuse and calls a hotline soon after the family leaves.
Fortunately, for Katie and her daughter the neighbor had the guts to call a helpline for them and Chapman well, after going to court, went to jail for life.

Through the anthropological study of games, Huizinga (1938) brought forth the notion that the salient feature of playing is that it is a voluntary and ‘needless’ activity. A consequence of this is the requirement of play that players must be able to defer or suspend playing at any time. Another requirement is that playing to a certain extent always is viewed as less ‘real’ than other human activities.From these basic requirements, Huizinga identified a set of properties of playing that are necessary for the play to be perceived as such by the players. Play is selfsufficient in the sense that it is satisfying in itself and that the activity ends when that satisfaction has been reached. Play is set apart from ordinary life both in locality and duration – it is played out within given limits of time and space – playing occurs within an arena, a playground, wherein a particular order is imposed. Some events involved meetings or live phone calls between players and actors.* Real life as a medium. The game used players' lives as a platform. Players were not required to build a character or role-play being someone other than themselves. They might unexpectedly overcome a challenge for the community simply because of the real-life knowledge and background they possessed. Participants were constantly on the lookout for clues embedded in everyday life.* Collaborative storytelling. While the puppetmasters controlled most of the story, they incorporated player content and responded to players' actions, analysis and speculation by adapting the narrative and intentionally left "white space" for the players to fill in.* Not a hoax. While the TINAG aesthetic might seem on the surface to be an attempt to make something indistinguishable from real life, there were both subtle and overt metacommunications in place to reveal the game's framework and most of its boundaries. The most obvious was that the story itself took place in the year 2142, and the websites ostensibly existed in the future (visitors to some of the sites would trigger a pop up warning that their browser was obsolete and unrecognized). The designers also limned the borders of the game more subtly, e.g. through the names on the site registrations.

My definition of Sexual assault:
Sexual assault is any unwanted physical contact from a male to a female without her consent. This is the politically correct term for Rape.
My definition of Rape:
Rape is penetration of the penis into the vagina/ unwanted contact of the penis into a female's vagina.

The various definitions of rape range from the broad (coercing a person to engage in any sexual act) to the specific (forcing a woman to submit to sexual intercourse). The United States Code includes the crime of rape under the more comprehensive term "sexual abuse." Two types of sexual assault are defined in the code: sexual abuse and aggravated sexual abuse. Sexual abuse includes acts in which an individual is forced to engage in sexual activity by use of threats or other fear tactics, or instances in which an individual is physically unable to decline. Rape is any kind of sexual intercourse (vaginal, oral, or anal) that is committed against a person's will or is committed with physical force or with a threat to hurt the victim or another person. It is also considered rape if the victim is intoxicated or unconscious and unable to give consent. Rape and sexual assault are not about sexual desire--they are about power and control.

Sexual assault is the legal term for rape, and it also encompasses other behaviors beyond forced sexual intercourse. Sexual assault can be any unwanted sexual contact, such as unwanted touching, fondling, or groping of sexual body parts. It can be committed by the use of threats or force or when someone takes advantage of circumstances that render a person incapable of giving consent, such as intoxication.

There are specific definitions for the degrees of sexual assault and legal definitions can vary from state to state. Rhode Island law defines these as:

1st Degree Sexual Assault -- sexual penetration of any orifice of the victim's body by a body part or object, achieved through force, threat of force or coercion.
2nd Degree Sexual Assault -- physical contact of a sexual nature without consent, with a victim's genitals or buttocks or a woman's breasts.
3rd Degree Sexual Assault -- sexual activity between one party who is 18 years of age or older and one who is under 16 years of age. (Sixteen is the age of consent in Rhode Island)

Definition of Rape

Any type of penetration (using body parts, objects, etc.) of any body orifice (nostrils, anus, etc.) perpetrated by one person on another by the use of intimidation, force, violence, or victim’s lack of consent (i.e., a person who is drunk, drugged, or developmentally disabled, for example).

Differentiating between the terms rape and sexual assault

The word rape has been used historically to refer only to penile-vaginal rape. Today it is often replaced by the term sexual assault to apply to a wider range of types of assaults committed by both sexes, on both sexes. Groping and harassment are defined as types of sexual assault, but they’re not types of rape. So the difference between the terms is technical: Rape in its strictest sense refers to penile-vaginal or penile-anal rape, while sexual assault has a much broader meaning and includes all kinds of sexually-based attacks. All are devastating.

Be aware that in many cases, the two terms are used interchangeably. If you’re attentive to context this won’t be a problem.

At December 2006, the legal definition of rape is penetration of a vagina by a penis, by however small an amount. This has to have been ‘by force’ and ‘against her will’ – meaning that at the time the woman had not consented. The criminal intent of the offence includes ‘the intention to have intercourse with the woman without her consent or recklessness as to the matter of the consent’.1 Because of this definition, oral rape, anal rape or penetration with other objects will be defined as a sexual assault.
